We have got the fall show in the books and it was a light turnout on Friday
but , Saturday was good attendance and Sunday we had church service and
light attendance Sunday for the show. We had Tractor games two different times
during the show. One was putting a chain in a box and the other you drove by
and threw a ball in a bucket. Thank you to everyone who helped with the show
whether it was before, during or after. You help is appreciated. It takes everyone
to make the show work.
The pies were a real hit for everyone who had pie and the food was good
as well. It seemed everyone had a good time at the show.
I enjoy seeing all the tractors and the blacksmith shop is one of my
favorite things at the show. Also the car show even thought we only had seven
cars it was good few we can work on getting more next spring. There was also a
car show in Decatur as well so we had competition from that car show.
We had a silent auction at our show and brought in funds for the club and
we had several items up for bid in the auction.
We will be having out election of officers and potluck in October and I
hope everyone can attend to vote. Phil is not running for vice President and Pat
is not running for Treasurer we need to replace both of those people. Phil and
Peggy moved to Guthrie Ok is the reason he is not running VP.
The dinner for the potluck is at 6pm on Tuesday the 15 th of October
at the clubhouse.
I went to another show and here is what I observed
They had eight or ten Tractors and no parade of power or blacksmithing
like we do. They used to have tractor pulls but didn’t see any evidence of that this
show.
Although with a lot of tractor clubs the members have passed away or are in bad
health and cannot help anymore with the show. I realize this but it seems that our
members help more and are more eager to participate that those were.
I hope we can get some younger people to join and carry on the club in the future.
I want to thank Pat Morrison for her work as Treasurer all the years she
was in Tresurer.
Also a thank you to Phil Pletcher for being VP and helping when he could.
