Hello Tired Iron members,
Here it is almost Christmas, and the year is almost gone. Where does the time go? Seems it goes faster every year. Unfortunately, this year members Jack Hutcheson and Larry Morrison passed away. We are gaining a few new members, and they have been attending the meetings and shows. I have been in the club since 1996, and I have seen lots of changes some good and some bad like losing club members. Ken, Eric, Ike, Brooks participated in the Pea Ridge Christmas Parade. In addition, Clyde drove his truckster in the Pea Ridge parade with his son Jim who replaced the motor so he could use it at shows and around his place.
We have elected three new officers; please give them the support and encouragement they need. Next year when we have our fall show we will also host the Hammer–n-Knife group. The show is expected to be very big; we hope all members bring as many engines and tractors as they can. It will be exciting to have them at our show and see all the demonstrations they do. It reminds me of the how the shows used to be when I joined the club how we had more attendance and displays at our shows. I got to meet and talk with Helen Case Brigham the Great Granddaughter to JI case. That’s when we had the national show at the other show grounds near the Rose of Sharon which is where the club was when I joined it.
I want to say with each passing year it seems like I cherish family and friends more each day. This Christmas we need to be thankful for them and enjoy their company and as we get older, remember they may not be here next year.
I hope all of you have a safe and Joyous Christmas season.
Merry Christmas to everyone
Sherri Hyde
